Winter Park, Colorado is a small town with a population of less than 1,000 residents, but they certainly have no shortage of delectable restaurants to choose from.
Places to Eat in Winter Park, Colorado
Back Bowl Soup Company
Upon exiting the cabriolet at the Winter Park Village Resort, we walked a few hundred feet to the The Back Bowl Soup Company.
It was just what we were in the mood for on a chilly November day!
They have a great selection of tasty home-made soups, yummy sandwiches and healthy salads.
Smokin’ Moe’s BBQ*
*UPDATE: Smokin’ Moes has CLOSED its doors after 200 years of operation.
Later in the week, following a morning of snowmobiling, we asked our guide for recommendations on good places to eat. He recommended Smokin’ Moe’s BBQ (located in the Cooper Creek Plaza).
The place had a great Western vibe!
We hit up the joint just as happy hour was beginning!
They had great prices on beer, wine and cocktails.
The food was pretty decent! The portions were huge!
Deno’s Mountain Bistro
During our week-long stay in Granby, we made one more trip into Winter Park where we had our Thanksgiving dinner at Deno’s Mountain Bistro.
They offered a reasonably priced Thanksgiving dinner, which everyone in our party ordered, except for me. I decided to go for the chicken marsala. I simply couldn’t resist!
We started out with the Gorgonzola fondue!
Then, out came the excellent Thanksgiving dinner for Sam and his parents…
… and my chicken marsala!
We were pleased with our choice for Thanksgiving dinner and would recommend Deno’s to others for a nice dinner out when visiting Winter Park!
Mountain Grind Coffee & Bistro
Mountain Grind Coffee & Bistro is another one of the many eateries located in Cooper Creek Plaza.
We visited Mountain Grind twice throughout our week in Colorado. According to the coffee drinkers in our group, the first visit was great; the second… a little off. I’d say they are hit-or-miss. I had a caramel apple cider both times and it was decent. I also sampled their home-made fudge. It was rather tasty!
Heck’s at Devil’s Thumb Ranch
One other place worth checking out, although located slightly outside of Winter Park in the neighboring town of Tabernash, is Heck’s at Devil’s Thumb Ranch.
We stopped by for Wine Down Wednesdays at Heck’s- Read about out experience here!
