Czech Shuttle: Affordable Transfer in Central/Eastern Europe

Following a wonderful week in Prague, it was time to move on to our next destination in the Czech Republic. While there are many options to choose from when traveling about Europe (plane, train, bus, shuttle, etc.), each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

For the 2.5 hour ride from Prague to Cesky Krumlov, we booked a private transfer with Czech Shuttle. They offer some of the most affordable options for door-to-door shuttle service in central/eastern Europe 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Transfers start at just 26€/per person. Their main transfer routes include Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Hallstatt, Vienna, and Salzburg. However, they also provide transportation to and from other cities in the Czech Republic and Austria, as well as in Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland to name a few.

The best part about door-to-door transport is that they show up at a time that is convenient for you. Rather than hailing a cab or hauling your luggage to get to the closest airport or train station, simply wait at your hotel (or residence) and let Czech Shuttle come to you!

They have a fleet of cars that seat up to 4 people, and vans that can seat up to 8. You can choose a private transfer and have a vehicle just for you and your traveling party or elect to ride in a shared shuttle bus (van) with others. The fuller the van, the lower the cost!

With Czech Shuttle, there is no deposit required. You simply pay the driver on the day of service. If you need to cancel or change your reservation for whatever reason, you can do so AT NO COST, so long as it’s 24 hours ahead of the scheduled pick-up time.

All we had to worry about was getting our stuff packed and ready to go by the pickup time we arranged with Czech Shuttle. Our driver helped secure our luggage in the back and from there we simply enjoyed watching the beautiful Czech countryside go by.

The customer service at Czech Shuttle is outstanding! They are extremely communicative throughout the entire reservation process and respond to e-mail inquiries in a very timely manner.  Our driver even went out of his way to stop off and show us a stunning castle on the way to Cesky Krumlov.

Hluboká Castle, located in the town of Hluboká nad Vltavou, is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful castles in the Czech Republic. What a treat to stop by!

After a brief stop, we were back on the road for another 40 minutes or so for the remainder of the drive to beautiful Cesky Krumlov.

Our private transfer from Prague to Cesky Krumlov was compliments of Czech Shuttle, in exchange for us sharing our experiences with you. Our write-up is a true testimony of the experience we had. We would absolutely recommend Czech Shuttle for all of your transportation needs throughout central and eastern Europe.

  1. The Czech Shuttle sounds a wonderful idea. travel can be a headache, specially if you want to see more of the country apart from Prague. I remember trying to find a bus depot in an out of the way place to go to Kutna Hora and all the drama’s getting there and back. Next time it will be a shuttle service, would love to see more of the countryside.

    • Yes, it was absolutely wonderful not having to worry about hauling our luggage and getting to a station. Sure, it’s a little more than the cost of a bus or train, but so worth it for the door to door transfer! You’re just paying a little extra to avoid the stress! 🙂

  2. Wow, private shuttles sounds like the way to go – love the convenience of it! I’ve been to Prague once before, and we did an excursion to the bone church in Kutna Hora – it was a massive pain trying to navigate the trains, so next time we head back (which I want to do soon) I’ve made a resolution to book in for private transport.

I LOVE that your driver let you make a stop along the way – castle looks fab!! Seriously, 5 stars for customer service! I’m sold!

  3. Wow – that’s a really good deal. I wonder if it would be that good anywhere else. Nowadays I usually prefer to pay a little more for a bit more convenience, however for this price, it would definitely be an easy choice. I’ve been to Czech Republic a couple of times but it was long ago, I really should go again one day … happy traveling!

    • The private transfers are a little more expensive than the shared shuttle vans… and even then you’re only sharing with max 7 other people. The more riders, the cheaper the cost! And the door-to-door pick up and drop off make it so much nicer than having to go to a bus or train station.
